Welcome aboard
I started out carrying luggage in a hotel lobby. Today I help run one of the largest corporate travel and expense platforms in Latin America. This newsletter lives somewhere in between those two points, in the space where travel, technology, and the people who move through both actually meet.
I’m Luiz Moura, co-founder and Chief Business Officer of VOLL. I’ve spent more than twenty years at the intersection of tourism and technology, long enough to have watched this industry from almost every seat: the front desk, the operation, the boardroom. I write here about what I see from those vantage points, and what I think it means for where corporate travel is heading.
What this newsletter is about
This is a place for thinking out loud about the business of moving people. Some of it is about artificial intelligence and where it genuinely changes things, as opposed to where it’s just noise. Some of it is about the economics of aviation, the fragility of the systems we all depend on, and the strange, human details of life on the road. And some of it is about the profession itself, the managers, the travelers, the people who make it all work and rarely get written about.
I try to write the way I’d talk to a colleague who knows the field. Analytical, honest, occasionally opinionated, never promotional. I’m not here to sell you anything. I’m here to make sense of an industry I care about, out in the open, one post at a time.
If you work in corporate travel, lead a team that lives on planes, build technology for this space, or simply find the movement of people around the world as fascinating as I do, I think you’ll feel at home here.
